John Westbrooke Chandler (1764 – 1804/5) was a British painter. ==Biography== He was the natural son of George Greville, 2nd Earl of Warwick, worked in London towards the end of the last century. About 1800, he was invited to Aberdeenshire, where he painted a good many portraits. Afterwards he settled in Edinburgh. He indulged freethinking speculations, was melancholic, and attempted to kill himself. He was unsuccessful, however, and died under confinement 'about 1804-5,' being then less than thirty years old. He was considered a promising painter. From 1787 to 1791 he exhibited ten portraits at the Royal Academy. He wrote a ballad and worked in London and Aberdeen before moving to Edinburgh, where he became mentally ill and died in an institution.〔(Sir Hubert an Heroic Ballad, 1800 )〕 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「John Westbrooke Chandler」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
